Park Creek road FR380 is finally back open. The water was dangerously close to the deck of the Park creek bridge for the last few weeks, but has finally come down a couple feet to make the bridge safe to cross again. This is currently the only access to the high country and Summitville (the abandoned mining town) at the top of the pass which is 11,500 feet in elevation.
Distance from our yard in Pagosa to Park creek road is 36 miles. This is the closest access to the high country until Tucker Ponds / Pass creek road FR 390 opens up. Still not sure if the turn off to Elwood pass and on down to Platoro is open yet. The snow drifts on the north facing slopes were still pretty deep. Will check it out and update sometime this weekend.
